So’s Fish Market

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

Neither my husband nor I eat fish, so I turned to a friend to recommend the best fish store in Midwood. He recommended So’s at 1602 Ave M to me – below is his reasoning.

So's Fish Market

They have fantastic variety: branzini, dorato, porgi, bluefish, blackfish, mackerel, turbit, yellowfin tuna, Norwegian salmon, and Princess of the Nile. In addition to the variety, the fish is of sushi grade quality, and while it’s not cheap, the prices are reasonable. The fish is purchased from the market that day, and there is rarely leftover stock. So will also filet fish per customer’s request. I am told the best part is that the fish store rarely smells like fish, which is a plus for a turf lover like me.

So is Korean, but the store is under rabbinical supervision and closed for Jewish holidays and the sabbath.
